Rated as high as #1 in the world at his profession Jockey Christophe Lemaire has a passion for Hip-Hop music. Knowing that Horse Racing needs a new vibe Christophe joined our forces to help us create the World's first Album dedicated to the sport we love. Street Jockey Music was born.
Christophe Lemaire's rise to the top of Japanese horse racing began in 2014 when he left France to pursue a new challenge. Overcoming setbacks, including the loss of his role as the Aga Khan's retained jockey, he took on the rigorous process of becoming a full-time jockey in Japan. His determination saw him recover from an injury and pass the demanding licensing exam, paving the way for historic success. In 2017, he became the first foreign jockey to claim the Japan Racing Association champion jockey title—an achievement he repeated for five consecutive years and now 7 out of the last 10. His legacy is further defined by his partnership with the legendary mare Almond Eye along with Equinox, their record-breaking performances together has cemented all their places in racing history.
His goal is to use music to promote horse racing and attract younger generations to the sport. Lemaire sees this project as a way to revitalize horse racing’s image, much like hip-hop has influenced other sports like basketball. His passion for both racing and music has led him to work with producers in the U.S. and Japan, incorporating elements of horse racing into the album’s themes. We are grateful to have Christophe on the team!
